Q: Can I book a food tour as a gift?

We are no longer offering Gift Vouchers however, on request, we can email you a "picture ticket" as a souvenir (in Pdf form) for a special birthday or occasion. All existing Gift Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. We loved offering gift vouchers, however people's lives are busy and their circumstances change - and our tours may change in name, format or offering.

Q: Can you cater for special diets?

Our tours are designed to showcase a variety of regional produce and local suppliers. We can offer a vegetarian option, however if you have specific requirements, contact us and we’ll do our best to cater for you. Unfortunately we can't cater for celiacs at the venues we have arrangements with.

Q: Are all your tours walking tours?

We run walking tours in various Coffs Coast locations.

Our tours run approximately 2-3 hrs, with a number of tasting stops, and a sit-down lunch at the end of the tour.

We've found the most practical and personal way to offering tastings, and discover a town or city is by walking. Our philosophy for offering walking tours aligns with this quote by Friedrich Nietzsche who said, "All truly great thoughts are conveived by walking".

Our tours are run by passionate locals, whose aim is to share with you a sense of place as well as taste.

Q: Do you have Covid-safe measures in place?

Yes, Bite Food Tours has a COVID-19 Safety Plan and all our tour guides are fully vaccinated and up to date with vaccinations. We ask people with covid-like symptoms not to attend our tours. If you wish to bring and wear a mask while on one of our tours please feel free to do so.

Cashless Payments

We can only accept online bookings and payments via our eventbrite event booking page.
We no longer accept cash payments, or guest walk ups.

When making a booking please provide the information requested for each ticket holder on our event booking form. We will also contact you by email or text to check if you have any dietary requirements.

Our booking form usually asks for:

• Your mobile phone number to contact you if there is a change of itinerary or weather warning
• Dietary requirements
• Your postcode - so we can adjust the tour to better suit locals or visitors

Booking Confirmations

Confirmation of your booking will be emailed or texted to you within 24 hr of your booking.

If you haven't received a confirmation email we ask that you
• Check your Spam email folder
• Email awia@bitefoodtours.com to advise us.

Walking Tours

Our walking tours cover an average of 2 km (1.2 miles) and require a moderate level of fitness.

All our tours include a bit of walking as it’s a fun and relaxed way to explore a city up close, and you can enjoy street art along the way.

Please advise us if you require mobility assistance before you book a tour.

Tour group sizes

Our food tours cater for small, personalised groups.

Due to social distancing restrictions, we've reduced our tour groups to a maximum of 6 people, and minimum of 2 people.

If we don’t meet our 2 people minimum our tour won't go ahead. You'll be notified by email or phone, and you can choose to either reschedule, buy a ticket for a friend, or request a refund.

Weather

• Our tours run rain or shine.
• Exceptions include extreme or inclement weather predictions, and you will be contacted prior to the tour so that you can reschedule, or request a refund.

What to bring with you on tour

• A hat, sunglasses, a bottle of water, smartphone and a camera
• Wear comfortable walking shoes, no thongs or flip flops to ensure entry at all venues
• If rain is predicted please bring an umbrella

If you have special dietary requirements, please contact us by email before you book a tour. We try to accommodate dietary needs, but it isn’t always possible, depending on the vendors we visit.

Please consider a customized Private Tour which offers more flexibility to create a tour that meets your dietary or special interest needs.

Cancellations – Regular tours

Please check when booking what Refund is available for each individual tour or event. Cancellations will be refunded minus any third party booking fee (e.g. Eventbrite). Instead consider rescheduling to another available date, or gifting your ticket/s to a friend. There are no refunds post event.

Same Day Cancellations

• Cancellations made by you on the day of the tour cannot be refunded
• Tour 'no shows' on the day of the tour cannot be refunded.

Cancellations – Private Tours with a customized itinerary

Cancellations for customized tours require 7 days notice to reschedule.

All tours

We will not issue a refund if you miss a tour due to the following reasons:

• You were a no show
• You didn’t check or respond to our email or text tour updates or changes
• You provided incorrect details in your booking

Tour Start time and Meeting Place

The tour start time and location is provided on the tour event booking page, and in your Booking Confirmation email.

We aim to provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable tour for you, but please be aware that we are not responsible for or liable to any of the following:

• Any injury or illness, including sunstroke
• Dietary reactions due to food allergies
• Any loss or damage to property
